simple and complete

Very good, I am very happy with the book. It's as simple as reggae, good to to differ the various techniques for piano and organ, it's makes you practise different tonailities within the exercises, and has a long section about how to join the techniques of piaqno and organ, lead and rhythm all together, very good if you are the only keyboard player in the band!

Very good book. One thing that could be approved upon is to play the exercises with out the back round track so you could really hear what's going on especially with the organ bubbles.

THE LAST DANCE? I DON'T THINK SO!!!!!!!

This latest release from the golden pen of Australian Fiction is about a young lady (Stella Myles), who is down on her luck in more ways than one. The book opens with a funeral, and by the end of chapter two we know her story, her family and her background. You may just find yourself completely in love with the brave young woman. The events transcribed in this chapter may well shock you, and there is no doubt the rising young starlet has had a bad life, but with the Gods of Fate shining a little ray of sunshine onto the overcast day Ms Myles calls her life, the reader may well feel justified in thinking some aspects are soon to improve. And they are. She is offered a job as a Governess to a wealthy family in Sussex, England, but as sure as day follows night, we learn that nothing is what it seems and her life is about to change in ways she (and the reader) have not even dreamed of.

The writing is fast and fluid, and features chapter ending hooks which are guaranteed to make the reader not want to put the story down. Marathon reading sessions are almost guaranteed, but (obviously) these are not recommended if you are experiencing this fine tome on the daily commute to, and from, work. The chapter lengths, as Walt Disney would say, are “just right” - that is, not too long, and not too short. But packed full of just the right level of information, emotion, and as I have just said, cliff hanger endings that maximises readers’ enjoyment levels.

It turns out that Stella and her new employers are soon (ish) off to Morocco and surrounds, and with personality clashes, love affairs and less than wholesome character motivations, things couldn’t get any worse for our heroine.

But they do.

I won’t reveal here what happens (it’s not my place) but rest assured that your heart rate will rise just as surely and just as swiftly as the action does in the book.

This is yet another strong release from this world class writer. I hereby award THE LAST DANCE a very encouraging four stars. Keep watching this space for updates as I progress through the story. I would not be surprised, given the heritage and talents of this authoress, if I end up giving it full marks.

An intriguing story of family secrets and deception

This is an enjoyable and intriguing story by talented author Australian author Fiona McIntosh set in 1930's England. Stella, an impoverished but well educated young woman takes a job as a French/Piano governess/tutor to support her much younger brother and sister.

It all starts with a chance meeting with an unusual man at a Piccadilly ballroom who orchestrates a job with the wealthy but strange Ainsworth family at their huge home in Sussex. While Douglas Ainsworth welcomes her, his wife and teenage daughter don't want her help. Slowly Stella learns something about the family secrets and more about the world of the mysterious Douglas.

Things come to a head when Douglas decides to take his whole family and Stella on a cruise calling at North Africa, Egypt and the Holy Land leading to two unexpected endings.

Both Suncoast and Mrs Suncoast read and enjoyed this book. Mrs Suncoast read and enjoyed Fiona McIntosh's previous book Nightingaleand considered that this one is as good if not better. Mrs Suncoast gave this book 5 stars, Suncoast gave it 4.5 stars as it is not his normal genre.

Just OK

As an accounting text it was OK - at best.
There were too many times when the book introduced a concept but then didn't develop it. And do NOT get the study guide for this book because that doesn't help either.
The only saving grace is the end of chapter exercises were the best way to learn the material - they take forever to do but you will learn if you do them.

Disappointing and difficult for beginners.

I find this book difficult to follow and not very user friendly. I agree with it her reviewers that the content is repetitive, especially when the subject matter is straightforward (eg, the importance of managing cash properly) but glosses over more abstract or difficult concepts like t account analysis. After reading chapter 2-4 I felt completely lost and overwhelmed by sentences like "rather than taking the operating cash flows directly from the cash t-account, the indirect method computes net cash operations by first taking net a income from the income statement and then adjusting it for differences between the accrual based measures of revenues and expenses and actual cash flows." What? Only later does the author bother to explain what basic terms such as "account" and "net book value" mean. The examples and diagrams are equally cryptic. I would not recommend this for anyone who has little or no previous exposure to accounting.

Why not to the title "Financial accounting in a financial and legal context

Overall, it is a good accounting book from the good point of views, not pedagogical, but practical and insightful, I read it with the Ross' "fundamentals of corporate finance" . Yes, Financial accounting is the practical balance between the usefulness of financial theory and effectiveness of legal verification. This book tries to follow this clue/principle. but not express it very clearly/explicitly. The part 2 is distinguished, abstract principle/assumptions are presented very well, but the following parties/chapters are not linked to part 2 very strongly/thoughtfully. if it would, the book would have been 5 stars.

Students renting beware!

If you're renting the book for class and using Kindle for PC, there are going to be a few excerpts missing. The first piece is Bartolome's In Defense of Indians, there are a few more that my class hasn't gotten to. Apparently this only happens on the Kindle for PC, as the missing excerpt shows up on the iPad. I've contacted Amazon and they said they're contacting the publisher. If you're going to be renting this book for class, I'd check first with Amazon to see if the problem has been resolved. ONLY applies to Kindle for PC.

Great for a day trip!

We'll be cruising to Barcelona and only spending one day there. This guide is the perfect size for what we need - info on all the main sites, maps, travel information...without having to pay for a more expensive / comprehensive guide designed for longer visits. It's still packed with information...it even has a small phrasebook in the back. It's smaller than I expected, which is a good thing. They've really packed a lot of information into a totally portable guide...metro maps, dining, street maps - it's really adorable, actually!

Very Handy

The best map/guide in the world isn't much use if it isn't easy to use. And that's the beauty of this Eyewitness offering. It fits easily into a pocket, folds out quickly, and contains a nice breakdown of many of the essential sights. We purchased several Barcelona maps, but this was one of the two we actually used while we were there.

Pocket Map and Guide Barcelona

I am very pleased with this little Eyewitness guide book. It is the perfect size to carry along when sight-seeing in the city, but the print is actually large enough that you don't need a magnifying glass to read it. When we travel in Europe our goal is to pack very light, and this little map and guide puts the important info into a small space. We'll only be in Barcelona for a couple of days before a Mediterranean cruise, so this is all we'll need to see highlights of the city.

Tony is the originator of mindmapping. Love his software. This book, at the beginning is about mind mapping then he goes into other areas, great on self improvement but not on mindmapping. Should change title or kick out two books.

Bravo Radio Theatre

This telling of C.S. Lewis' beloved TLTWTW is very well done. The ultimate is to get your hands on the full set. It offers a great way to further enjoy this well crafted story for young and seasoned. Other works of Focus on the Family's Radio Theatre are also highly recommended. Happy listening.

An enjoyable adaptation

I love this BBC version of "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe." The story is a classic, and this script is very true to the book.
The production is very well done, like most of the BBC's audio theatre. The voice actors do a great job, and actual children play the four kids. The various accents of the British Isles are on display, which adds a realistic touch. Music and sound effects are well used to evoke mood and excitement. Imagination is one of the main benefits of radio theater, and the BBC knows how to do it right. The White Witch is terrible. Aslan is good, but not safe.
I think that they have produced, or are currently producing, the entire series as audio dramas. I will definitely be looking into the others.

This was an awesome audio production of the second book in the

C.S. Lewis "The Chronicles of Narnia" series. I was drawn spell bound into the story and was deeply impacted emotionally everytime Aslan, being a type of Christ, appeared in the story. It was powerful and I immediatley ordered the entire audio series to enjoy and share with others.
